Caring for someone else’s child in your own home takes a special kind of person. But no matter what their skills and experience, all our Foster Carers rely on support and guidance from our Supervising Social Workers, Support Workers and Managers.
Providing a 24-hour service is no mean feat, but at Family Care everyone takes their turn. On call is completed on a duty rota, so that we can be sure our carers can access advice when they need it, no matter the time of day.
Our Fostering team deliver training sessions, support groups and a whole host of activities and consultation events to ensure that foster carers have the resources they need to make a lasting difference.
There is no getting away from the paperwork! Yes, you will have reports to complete, plans to write down and supervisions with your carers to record, but with small caseloads of 12-14 families local to your home and the office, we want most of your time to be supporting carers and young people to achieve their goals.
We will support you with your personal and professional development, offering a wide range of training and learning opportunities for you to develop your skills as an effective Social Care Practitioner.
At Family Care, we all become part of the family. The young people in our care really benefit from a stable team, each of whom are properly supported by management to make a difference and effect real change.
So, if you are a Qualified Social Worker or a Support Worker with a wide range of experiences, Family Care might be for you. We can promise that no two days will be the same – a trip to Alton Towers with young people, a meeting with the Local Authority, a therapeutic team around the child (TAC) meeting or clinical supervision with our in-house therapists, every day will bring new challenges and rewards.
Be part of something special. Join us.
