Therapeutic Services

Our focus is on achieving the best outcomes for young people in our care.  To do that, we believe therapeutically informed practice is essential, helping us understand the child’s journey from womb to now.

At Family Care we deliver therapeutically informed care and education for children and young people, led by a team of qualified therapists.  Through regular individual consultations and clinical supervisions, our therapists support the development, knowledge, and skills of our staff teams, so they can confidently address the emotional and mental health needs of young people in their care.

Support Services

All the staff at Family Care are motivated to play their part in changing children’s lives, not just those on the ‘front line’. Every area of the business, from Finance and Administration to our Therapeutic team is driven by our key value of aspiring to be the best, to ensure that we are significantly improving young people’s lives and experiences.

Central Support Services provide ethical and innovative ways of working to ensure that every home, school and member of staff has the equipment, training and resources needed to perform their role without interruption.

“Consultation is the primary model of ongoing support to teams.  It is a formal process, theoretically underpinned and supported by a clear evidence base.  It is fully compliant with NICE guidelines and national minimum standards for children’s homes” NICE guidelines

Our focus is on ensuring all staff are working within clearly defined therapeutic approaches, thereby providing 24/7 therapeutically informed care.  This therapeutic oversight, consultation and clinical supervision is included as standard.

Our therapists can also provide therapeutic intervention work for children and young people, at an additional cost.  The interventions we offer include:

  • Play Therapy (Individual and Group)
  • Dyadic Developmental Practice
  • Filial Coaching/Mentoring (Individual and Group)
  • Theraplay Based Interventions (Individual and Group)
